Dayton native, Rodney A. Brown, is a choreographer, performer, educator, activist, and Director of The Brown Dance Project. Brown’s choreographic work has been performed internationally in Europe, South Africa, Mozambique, and nationally on concert dance companies, college and university programs and collaborative collectives. As a performer, Brown has worked with diverse companies, including Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Bichini Bia Congo Dance Theatre, Eisenhower Dance Ensemble, Chavasse Dance and Performance, Peter Sparling Dance Company, and performed works by Eleo Pomare, Doug Varone, Billy Siegenfeld, Ronald K. Brown, Rennie Harris, and Donald McKayle. A proud Daytonian, Brown continues an invaluable performing, choreographic, and teaching relationship with the Dayton Contemporary Dance organization that spans more than a decade.
