Founded in 2006, The Zoot Theatre Company is Dayton’s only professional puppetry and mask company. A visual arts company by trade, Zoot’s gallery is the stage. The company’s stunning puppets and masks are beginning to gain fame throughout the country and will soon be a part of regional and national tours. Co-founded by Dayton residents D. Tristan Cupp, Artistic Director and puppet and mask builder, and Michael S. Sticka, Executive Director, Zoot is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that produces three MainStage shows each year, with 2012-13 being the first Season that Zoot will take residence at The Dayton Art Institute’ NCR Renaissance Auditorium. In addition to it’s MainStage Season, Zoot produces educational and family series shows that have been seen by thousands of students throughout the Southwestern Ohio region and will be launched on tour beginning in Fall of 2013. In addition to housing offices and being the resident company at The Dayton Art Institute, Zoot maintains its studios, shop, and rehearsal space in downtown Dayton.
