RiverScape MetroPark, located at 111 E. Monument Avenue, is found along the Great Miami River in downtown Dayton. Formerly Van Cleve Park, this popular park is a hub of activities for all ages. Concerts and community events, river rentals, food concessions, and a seasonal ice rink are RiverScape’s favorite features. In addition, this park is situated at the confluence of several paved bikeways and offers a commuter bike hub. This urban park can be an excellent place to watch migratory and resident birds such as Great Blue Herons, waterfowl, and gulls, and even animals such as beaver and snapping turtles. There is something happening year round at RiverScape MetroPark! Amid the beautiful landscape gardens, flowering pots, hanging baskets and reflecting pools, the park hosts a full range of activities: free summer weekend concerts, parent and preschooler programs, and major community festivals including the Dayton Celtic Festival, the Cityfolk Festival, Taste of Miami Valley, the Hispanic Heritage Festival, and the Dayton African American Cultural Festival. As the Miami Valley’s favorite community gathering place, this Dayton Original provides a little urban reprieve right in the heart of downtown Dayton!
