The PNC 2nd Street Market is housed in the former Baltimore and Ohio (B&O) freight warehouse (600 E. Second Street) built in 1911, saved from demolition, and renovated in 2001. With sponsorship assistance from PNC Bank, local growers, bakers, culinary specialists, and artisans fill this charming market, reminiscent of European markets. Over 40 merchants offer a unique selection of items from imported home décor and fresh flowers, to meats and eggs. The Market is open year round, Thursdays and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., but is especially enjoyable in the spring when the weather is fair and there is a greater selection of produce and flowers. Each week there are food stands, free samples, and live music. More than 200,000 people visit the PNC 2nd Street Market each year. The PNC 2nd Street Market is one of the Miami Valley’s favorite places for locally grown meat and produce, organic products, homemade food, and craft items.
