Every season has something special to offer at Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark! Located at 1301 E. Siebenthaler Avenue, Wegerzyn Gardens is situated along the scenic Stillwater River Corridor. Wegerzyn Gardens is dedicated to providing the people of the Miami Valley with learning experiences in gardening, horticulture, the environment, and urban land stewardship of the River Corridor. The Formal Gardens include: the Garden Green, the North and South Plazas, the Arbor Garden, the Victor Ries Memorial Garden, the Community Gardens, the Memory Garden, the Federal Garden, the English Garden, the Victorian Garden, and the Reception Lawn. Each Garden is distinctive and offers a wealth of ideas with many places to sit and enjoy the beauty. In addition, the Children’s Discovery Garden is like no other garden in this area! It is a child-friendly place to discover, experience, and love our world through gardening. Divided into three main areas, the garden offers opportunities to play among interesting and whimsical plant displays, learn about Ohio habitats, and grow vegetables and other backyard plants. The Children’s Discovery Garden includes the Entrance Courtyard, the Garden Gateway, the Ohio Woods, the Ohio Cave, the Ohio Prairie, the Wetland Area with Dragonfly Pond, the Wildlfe Garden, the Music Maze, the Build-A-Garden, the Sensory Garden, and Skeeter’s Garden. Visitors may also explore the Marie Aull Nature Trail, the Swamp Forest Boardwalk, and the scenic Stillwater River Recreation Trail.
